Honestly at least VirtualBox sets up easy as cake, I'm not too keen on it but I'm gonna try it out probably. I tried putting XP on Dīut I don't doubt at all it may work if I do like you are saying and wipe everything clean, start with installing XP, but as it is I had to go through too much wiping clean and re-installing OS's on this thing, after the hard drive switch and then deciding to leave XP out for Windows 7. Partitions, yeah ever since I started using this computer with Win7 and a new HDD I've had it set in 2 partitions, 250 GB each, C and D drive.

I found out that guide is the standard that everyone tells ya to follow, it says you can do dual boot either way, theres specific instructions for if you have XP or Win7 already.I've been running Win7 only on this for a long time now.

I mean, come to think of it shouldn't this just work by itself, since the XP cd installation I'm using originally came with this computer? Regardless, don't know which of these drivers I should be using, or if I'm supposed to install all of them.Įdited by satch4684, 20 June 2015 - 09:30 PM. I just chose the mobile version, and it said there's already a driver for it on the cd, I quit then and didn't bother going through with yet again re-installing XP yet. Intel 82801GR/GH SATA AHCI (desktop KH7R/DH) Intel 82801GR/GH SATA RAID (desktop KH7R/DH) However then it wants me to choose which driver to use: I just read somewhere you can't, but it DOES seem to work. I've tested using the usb floppy instead and F6, with the original XP installation cd. The tutorial says use EasyBCD if this happens, but WinXP still can't be booted when this is set, maybe I can edit it to work somehow? I need to use Win7 and startup repair to even get in the computer again. No good, i've been trying to do this for nearly 2 days now, it won't even boot into xp to finish installation.
